10 OF MY MOST MEMORABLE TRIPS

10 OF MY MOST MEMORABLE TRIPS

I have made so many trips….I suppose a majority of which are really  Happy Trips. This was the reason why I named my very first travel blog – The Happy Trip.

But there are trips that are really special and  memorable to me. If you’ll ask me what are my criteria to consider one trip memorable, maybe I can’t answer. The same question I asked myself while writing this article. Maybe the answer could be a combination of many factors.

Let me share with you some of my most memorable trips through the years…

  1. Dakak, 1998

That was in 1988 when we first visited Dakak. There were only three of us close friends who just wanted to unwind and be away from the bustle of the city life. I will never forget the moment when we run out of cash because we thought there were ATM machines in the place; the time where we dared displayed ourselves in our skimpy swim wears (one thing that we will not do again, Lol).

Dakak Park and Beach Resort for me is a paradise considering its beauty and serenity. Dakak is conveniently positioned in the southern part of the Philippines and surrounded by mountains in its west. Situated at Taguilon, Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte, Dakak tactfully eludes the typhoon belt, making it an ideal all-season destination for travelers.

2. Singapore,2011

This was the first time I went out of the country and I was very excited. Together with my dear friend Dr. Nenette Padilla   who was also my Dean when I was  still teaching at La Consolacion College-Bacolod, School of Business and Information Technology. We stayed together in the flat of one of our students from LCC-Bacolod. Traveling with a friend was really great, no pretensions …and the conversation was very real.

3. Start of My Bike Ride, 2011

I bought a bike in 2011 and started to love the activity. I would always look forward to our weekend off road bike rides  in various places in Negros Occidental. In this activity, I gained new friends and gained a new perspective about life. As of this time  writing, my bike was temporarily parked at home, but I started to clean it up for another chapter of this adventure.

4. Boracay, 2011

I’d been in Boracay for so many times, but this one of my most memorable. In this trip, we made so many crazy things and cheap thrills which I found really enjoyable: indulging on a free dinner offered by one company offering their products, night photo shoot at the beach which I cannot share (Lol…)  and a lot more.

5. Cagayan, 2011

I attended a conference in Cagayan during this trip and in one of the boring session,  together with my 2 friends we sneaked out from the venue and went on a trip to Dahilayan in Bukidnon. Dahilayan became  very popular during those time because of the movie which starred KC Concepcion was taken on the said place. That was the first time I tried the Zipline which was 840 meters long with a drop of 100 meters. It used to be the longest zipline in Asia. The  launch tower measures 4,500′ above sea level. We zoomed through the rainforest canopy at 60-80kph to land at our Carrier-type flight deck using a special arresting gear system. The experience was really scary as if my spirit had separated  from my body because of the speed. And even though  I had already tried so many ziplines after that experience, for me the Dahilayan Zipline experience was really different.  That experience opened my mind to try some other extreme activities. We also tried the white water rafting on the same trip.

6. Davao, 2011

In this trip, we tried the white water rafting at Davao River where I almost got drowned. The event gave me a deeper realization about life.

7. Hongkong and Macau,2012

This was the first time I traveled with my siblings (3 sisters). We went to Hongkong for some bonding  and it was really fun. It was never easy for us to go together for many reasons.I should say, this was one of our needed trips because as siblings just like any other common family we had  some differences which at times lead to a problem.  We had a great time tasting various cuisines which were really fun  plus  the mistakes I made in our itinerary caused by some of the wrong travel information I got from some writers.

10 OF MY MOST MEMORABLE TRIPS , chiang mai, thailand

8. Chiang Mai, Thailand,2012

I stayed in Chiang Mai for a little less than a month to complete my Certificate in Advance Leadership Course. This was my longest time to be away from home and just realize that I can’t afford to be away from my family. But this trip gave me so much time to be with myself, reflecting and praying for people which matter most to me.

I recalled my African roommate borrowed a few dollars from me because there was no currency exchange in the hotel where we were staying – only to find out that the money he borrowed  was used for my birthday cake.  This was also the first time that I spent my birthday with 23 other nationals who also  became my friends.

I can say that this was more of a spiritual trip for me.Of course, I did organized extra trips within Chiang Mai along with my classmates.

9. Ilocos, 2014

My most well-planned trip…. got my discounted ticket long before from  Cebu Pacific. The trip was intended as a celebration of my birthday. Having a good company made this trip perfect. I thought all the while that this was my cheapest trip considering that I only got my ticket at a very cheap deal. But on my way home, while I was in Manila, I forgot to monitor my schedule resulting for me to miss my flight back to Bacolod. The result, I have to buy a ticket on the same  day of my flight which was terribly expensive – Isn’t it  memorable?

But what made this trip really worth remembering was the beautiful memories I experienced in between travel times- most of which were those that I cannot afford share

10. Palawan,2015 This was the very first time I visited Palawan and it was very momentous: the moment when I almost got drowned in one of our Island Hopping Trip; the very expensive slippers I got as a gift; the candle lit dinner at the beach;the swapping of rash guards among friends so that we would look different for the photo shoots and the very loving host we’ve got. All these I will never forget.

  22. My dog is recovering from brain surgery, and during the quest (6 months) for a diagnosis; X-rays, antibiotics, anesthesia, pain meds, surgery…her entire system was thrown off. This, plus what I know about systemic candida and illness, had me searching for a food that was meant to really support healing. I started my dog on Dr Harvey’s veggie pre-mix, which is all my local pet store carries. It’s great, but so many starches for a puppy girl who just had major surgery. I found paradigm online and ordered a free sample. I added 1 tbsp to her usual food, to start, and within a few hours I noticed a difference in her mentation, energy, overall mood & well-being. This upswing in her recovery has continued since switching her over to this food. I can’t recommend it enough.
