11 GOOD REASONS TO TRY LE BISTROT FRANCAIS

Bonjour!

I may not be an authority when it comes to food, but one thing which I love and look about food is its authenticity. In Bacolod City, there’s one restaurant which I guess many have not discovered yet by many. The “Le Bistrot Francais” is a French bistro located at the Central Citywalk Robinsons Place,  Bacolod City. Le Bistrot has been in its soft opening for a while.

In my first visit to the restaurant, I immediately fell in love with it.  Here are the  11 Good Reasons To Try Le Bistrot Francais.

  1. Fine Dining ambiance with an incredibly low price of food

From the outside, one would believe that the restaurant is actually expensive. While the place is just small, yet it evokes an expensive ambiance.  The furniture is upholstered in a deluxe red velvet; one side of the wall is decorated with frames and photographs which tells a story about France, while on other side series of paintings from a local artist are lined.

  1. They serve authentic French cuisine

I think no one can better serve authentic French cuisine than the French people themselves. Le Bistrot is run and manage by the French couple Ton Trong Ho and Sara Vial. Ton, personally trained all their cook on how to prepare each of the meal in their menu the way French people prepare their food. Some of their ingredients were imported from France to achieve the authenticity of each of the dishes in their card. However, they also sourced locally with other ingredients like the vegetables to ensure its freshness.

  1. Personalized service

While Ton is mostly busy in the kitchen, Sara makes sure to attend to the dining area. And yes, you can always ask the couple about their food. You can even learn few French words from them. I for one was never shy to ask about how to pronounce properly the name of the food on their menu. Well, a little conversation makes your dining experience even more enjoyable.

  1. Wide array of wine selections

Wine is always part of any French dining, that’s the reason why this restaurant has a wide array of wine to choose from. When I first visited Le Bistrot. Ton first offered me their house wine, then after a while he let me try    a glass of 2006 Chateau Lafon, Bordeaux, France. This wine is more expensive than most red wines from Bordeaux. The wines are sold by the bottle, but they also sell by the glass.

cold-cuts-platter

  1. COLD CUTS PLATTER

It’s nice to enjoy wine with cold cuts. Isn’t this cold cuts platter looked inviting?

unlimited-french-fries

  1. Unlimited French Fries in most of their snack items

Unlimited rice is very common nowadays, but at Le Bistrot they have this unlimited French Fries on some of their snack items.  All you need is to add PhP 49 and you can already enjoy your unlimited French Fries. Simply ask about his “UNLI” promo when you visit Le Bistrot. By the way, their snack items are mostly a complete meal already.

oinion-soup

  1. FRENCH ONION SOUP

One of my favorites in their menu is this French Onion soup. I guess nothing is more comforting after a  long and tiring day than a hot bowl of French onion soup, especially with  thick slices of toasted bread loaded with sweet caramelized onions and Emmental cheese— and it’s only PHP 160/serving.

ratatouille

  1. RATATOUILLE

For the veggie lovers, this is a must try. The main ingredients are tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini and bell peppers. For only PHP 100/serving ,you can already enjoy this side dish and you can even share this with another body because the serving is quite large.

  1. LORRAINE QUICHE PIE

For only PHP 139, you can already enjoy this complete meal snack item. The Pie crust is crispy on the outside and the fillings  which are a mix of ham, egg and cheese & lettuce taste so creamy.

 duck-breast-magret

  1. FRENCH DUCK BREAST

I should say, this is the star in their menu. To die for, promise! This dish is made from imported duck breast with buttered salted caramel sauce & sauteed potato wedges. I literally scoop the sauce up to the last drop. This one cost PHP 540/serving, but it’s all worth it!

Fat-duck-liver-foie-gras

  1. FOIE GRAS POELE AUX FIGUES

Another must try and highly recommended.I have asked Sara about  the correct pronunciation, but the moment I ate it – I cannot pronounce it again. Its main ingredient is the Fat Duck liver pan and served with figs dressing. I love the velvety taste of the fat duck liver, while the sweet figs dressing creates balance and magic.

My visit at Le Bistrot was truly an amazing experience. Of course, they have more offerings from their menu that I haven’t tasted yet. For sure I will come back to try more especially their desserts. Obviously with the food that I have tried as enumerated above, I have no more room for any dessert.

No doubt I have eaten a lot that evening. Take note I didn’t rice and I just tasted the French Fries (my Doctor might be reading this).Nonetheless, that was still a lot.  But life is short and I just allow myself to indulge once in a while, as what they say, “profitons de la vie” (Let’s enjoy life!).
