4 RAU RAM CAFÉ DISHES TO TRY (SAIGON CAFÉ)

Rau Ram Café Dishes to Try

4 DISHES I LIKE THE MOST AT RAU RAM CAFÉ (SAIGON CAFÉ)

In Bacolod City, there’s one restaurant that serves authentic Vietnamese Cuisine and Asian Fusion Dishes. Located at Prk. Marapara 1 Zone 2, Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City, Philippines, Rau Ram Café (formerly known as Saigon Café) is tucked inside the residential area of the place. Even if you are from Bacolod, the place seemed challenging to locate. Candidly, the situation is not that spectacular because it’s just a frontage of the house of the owners which they changed into an eatery. During lunchtime, it’s also quite a challenge to dine in at the place because of the humid temperature. The roofing is constructed of galvanized iron without an insulator making the temperature of the area warm.

Despite this, you will be bewildered by the number of cars always lining in front of their homes. People keep on coming back and would crave for their dishes, including me.

I think the reasons are apparent, they wait for good food with brilliant taste. Perhaps it’s the ease and the authenticity of the food they do keep people from coming back. For a few times that I have seen the place, I admit I haven’t tried yet all that is on their card. But there are four dishes I would order and recommend to my friends, each time we visit Rau Ram Café. Perhaps this list would enlarge the moment I will try their other dishes. Possibly!

Four Dishes Iat Rau Ram Café

Rau Ram Café Dishes to Try

  1. Pho Bo (Beef and Rice Noodle Soup)

Who doesn’t love noodles soup?

Basing from my little background of the Vietnamese Cuisine,  Beef Pho Noodle Soup is a classic in any Vietnamese Food Repertoire. What I like the most about this dish is the long time spent in preparing the broth. Rau Ram’s Pho Bo exudes the authentic taste of the beef. A bowl of Pho Bo only costs PHP 159.00 and can already serve up to 4 persons (depending on your diet).

Rau Ram Café Dishes to Try

  1. Gỏi cuốn (Vietnamese Spring Rolls)

This traditional Vietnamese Spring Roll recipe (gỏi cuốn) is a sweet and healthy recipe, full of veggies so that you can chow down with less guilt. What I like most about this dish is the creamy peanut sauce that delivers a sting of the pepper. Each time I would arrange for this dish I would usually ask for an extra sauce.

Rau Ram Café Dishes to Try

  1. (Suon Kho Man) Braised Beef

I enjoy beef, and I could dine happily on this savory dish alone.   The sugar and salt in the marinade cure the meat. I love the extra thick sauce because It drips down steamed rice. By the way, they serve this dish in a rice bowl. Judging from the taste of the food, I guess they use soda when cooking this dish.

Rau Ram Café Dishes to Try

  1. Thit Kho nuoc dua (Stewed Pork in Buko Juice)

Another excellent rice bowl dish they have is the Thit Kho nuoc dua or a Stewed Pork in Buko Juice. The buko juice gave this dish a sweet taste. I don’t know, but I always like the sweet taste of my food.

On my next visit, I will try their other dishes so that I can tell you if it is good. By the way, their new restaurant which is just located right in front of where they are right now is about to open.  It has a parking space, and they promise a more delightful dining experience with their soon to begin a new place. Kudos Rau Ram Café!!!
