  2. Gosh! All the things a traveler need is in this article. I will bookmark it and in case I need a guide what to do first in Bacolod, This will be a helpful information.

  3. I don’t know where Bacolod is located. Is it far from Luzon?
The list here won’t make travelers hungry. I will go for more of tourist spot place that tells history. I wonder how it is like to tour with a tourist guide.

  4. The title is catchy but a handful of the “to do” is actually not in Bacolod area. This article should have given an appropriate title. It should be Negros Occidental, not just Bacolod.

Also, a good portion of “things to do” is visiting restaurants, which it could be fun but not as fun as going to remote, exotic places that’s only in Negros.

    • Thank you Job for that observation. Places outside Bacolod were included because these places offer somtehing that cannot be found within the city proper.Bacolod visitors would surely love a side trip when they are in town 🙂

  5. So many misses on the list: AIDA’s in Manokan is a lot better than Chicken House. Chicken Deli is the worst!
Lakawon Island in cadiz city, while not managed well has the best area fir swimming & snorkeking. Less than 2 hours from Bacolod. The beaches South of Negros which are near good diving places. Danjugan Island, the ultimate eco-tourism themed island. Many, many missed places.

  6. Wow 70 things! Chicken Inasal is my favorite so I would definitely try Bacolod’s version when I go there someday! And Campuestohan sounds like a great adventure. I love theme parks!

  7. dickvincedorry

your post took me down to memory lane… it makes me want to visit the city of smile again

  8. Admittedly, I have not been to Bacolod but I have heard a lot of good stuff about it – from the gastroadventures that one can have, to the sights, and the people. This is an awesome list that you’ve put together. I’ve bookmarked your post for future reference. I hope to see Bacolod super soon!

  9. Iren’s Restaurant must try their Sweet and Spicy Calamares

      • I believe its the iren’s at the ground floor of the dream 21 building next to the Jollibee in front of riverside hospital. If you go there, I recommend trying Fogo also. Its next to Iren’s. They have serve their version of Mexican food.

  10. This is a good list but it would have been more accurate and respectful to the businesses mentioned if their names were spelled correctly.

  11. Try Wokman. Serving oriental dishes at very affordable price. Located at door #4 Pacita Bldg., La Salle Avenue :

    • Thank you Keith. As I am preparing for longer list (100 Things to do in Bacolod City/Negros Occidental) for my another blog, I will consider also other places and dining establishments. But I cannot really include a place which I haven’t tried 🙂

  12. I always wanted to go to bacolod. This list would sure come in handy.

  13. Wow!! OMG, that was a lot of things to do! I bet one day isn’t enough to experience all of those! I personally like to try, 1,22,23. But of course, will try my best to try everything should I get a chance to travel to Bacolod! 🙂

Ps. I love the photos, as usual. 😉

  14. Yay! Good thing I found this post. Sharing it with my friends who will visiting Bacolod. I am so jealous as I haven’t been to provinces in PH. I am missing a lot *sigh

I hope I can see the beautiful provinces soon.

  15. Peachy @ The Peach Kitchen

I haven’t been to Bacolod but that’s the first thing I want to try — te authentic Chicken Inasal!

  16. Wow, what a great list. What I like most is the street foods. Hmmm, baby backribs and seafoods too. There’s so much to do in Bacolod indeed. I’ll be broke if I go all of these places. 😉

  17. I love this list! Will definitely keep this in mind when I go to Bacolod! 🙂

  18. Very interesting and thoroughly researched although some areas were not fully covered. However, you haven’t featured a lot of beautiful places and pristine beaches in Southern or Northern Negros. Wish you could have included it on the write-up like in Batang Peninsula Resort in Himamaylan Ciy (old capital of Negros Occ)where there is a abundance of oysters (as big as plates),green mussels, prawns, beach, cottages and pavilions and Acapulco Resort up in the hill/mountain side of Himamaylan where they have a cave, cottages and swimming pool filled with water from a natural spring.
There are more beaches in Escalante and San Carlos City. There are chocolate hills too somewhere in Northern Negros. Please add them up to your write-up.

    • THank you Ms. Zeny. Wow, I would love to features caves in Negros. Hope someone would bring us there….I don’t want to write on something I haven’t tried. Yes, I have been to Batang Peninsula.I am now writing the 100+ Things To Do in Bacolod and Negros Occidental 🙂

  19. Just got back from a 3-week vacation in Silay/Bacolod…. Another must-try are the delicacies from Emma Lacson… Their pili square is simply the best and their fresh lumpia is the best i’ve ever had.. For me, nothing compares to it. I also likr their empanada…. Too bad I ciuldn’t bring any empanada with me but you bet I stuffed a couple of boxes of their pili squares in my already overstuffed (with pastries) luggage.

  20. Btw, Emma Lacson’s delicacies are available at their house in Silay…. They do not have a store or stall. One can just go to their house to purchase them. I do not know their address but the house is located adjacent to a bank (BPI i think) and has a green gate

  21. Thank you for sharing your kbowledge about must-go-places in Bacolod and other parts of Negros. I just wished that you had also included the price, especially for backpackers like my friends and I. Thank you

  22. Thanks for posting the photos of foodies back home. I miss Bacolod. Your list is awesome…the site just needs a little arrangement to look more fantastic. A professional web designer will the trick.

  23. Hi..we love to go and visit Bacolod all time, but we didn’t find any Authentic Mediterranean food, kindly help us because in this article you put International cuisine which we can’t find any Mediterrenean foods in Bacolod. There’s a lot of filipino workers in Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc. and i think there is one in Bacolod but you didn’t find.

  24. Hello, i am married with Egyptian and i have many friends that is Muslims. Yes, it’s true only Mediterranean Foods are not in the list. Many Restaurant in Manila like Persian, Arabic Foods and many more but only in Bacolod don’t have. Mediterranean food, have a huge restaurant in US, Canada, Mexico, London, Paris, LA & many countries we came & the best & healthy cuisine is Meditterenean. Arab people never eat pork that’s why we are choosy for foods. Hopefully nextime we will see you’re article about Mediterranean foods..we are so glad and happy to hear and see in this article. Salam.

  46. Ricardo Samson

Most of the places here are not in Bacolod city but in another city! Other places here are miles away from bacolod but the title says “70 THINGS TO DO IN BACOLOD CITY AND NEGROS OCCIDENTAL” ! How ignorant!

  47. Wow! This blog is just awesome. It’s really very helpful for travelers. We can do lot of activities and fun. I can’t even begin to imagine where to start. I just loved seafood and chicken a lot. And also we got good discounts from the “Winery Philippines”. While travelling we were worried about food.
