This new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Shield Canvas sneaker features enhanced comfort of a Lunarlon sock liner, non-slip padded tongue and micro-suede lining with materials that can also survive most climate challenges. A water-repellent Shield Canvas and a gusseted tongue have been added, while the medial eyelets were removed to prevent water from coming in. This collection is indeed perfect for dry to wet and rainy adventures.  Another feature added in this collection were the reflective heel webbing and barrel laces providing visibility in low light environments.

Converse will also release another variation of Chuck II – the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Rubber. Converse integrated a transparent rubber overlay on the iconic Chuck II design; this allows for the sneaker to breathe while fighting off water and protecting feet from the elements. All the features and benefits of the Chuck II such as a Lunarlon sock liner are added in the sneakers. Moreover, a non-slip padded tongue, while adding a beautifully crafted dimensional canvas for breathability, micro-perforated leather lining for comfort and heat reflecting barrier at the footbed for warmth can also be found in this design.

Converse Cons One Star Shield Canvas

One of my favorites, the Converse Cons Star also receives the Shield Canvas treatment. Unlike my old  Converse Cons One Star, the sneakers now feature the enhanced comfort of a Lunarlon sock liner with a lightweight and breathable canvas that can also withstand the rain. The sneakers also have a gusseted tongue, and the medial eyelets were removed making it perfect for the rainy days. Traction rubber has also been incorporated to the outsole, providing additional grip.

Another personal favorite is the Converse Jack Purcell Signature Twill Shield Canvas.
