STI- WEST NEGROS UNIVERSITY

I am Ancella Denise Anne Pastias, I am the only girl among the four children of Roberto Pastias Jr. a nurse, and Leilane Pastias a public school teacher. I have three other siblings, the eldest Roberto Louise who is now an engineer; Michael Jay who recently graduated BS in Marine Transportation; and Alphonzo Raphael the youngest. I was born on July 6, 1999, in Bacolod City. I completed my elementary years at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School; my high school at STI West Negros University Integrated School where I started to develop my potentials and my personality with the support of my teachers and classmates. I was crowned Prom Princess during our Juniors Prom; I was also crowned Lakambini ng Wika in 2014. In our parish, at the Holy Cross Parish in Camingawan, I was crowned as Reyna Elena 2016. These were some of my greatest achievements; I also played volleyball as my favorite sport.

After graduating from high school, I had to decide on what course to take in college. Thus, I asked advice from my parents and my brothers. I also sought the Lord’s guidance in order for me to make the right decision. So, I took up Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at STI West Negros University, where I am currently in my sophomore year. I believe that this course is really for me because I know that I can well promote the goodness and beauty of life by showing to people the bountiful and abundant gift of God through the beautiful sceneries that we see around us.

“No mountain high enough for the person who strives.” this is the philosophy of my life that I look back every time there are hindrances, problems, and circumstances that come into my life. I’ve got to strengthen my faith in God and keep trying and fighting until I succeed. As long as you strive and persevere, giving up is not an option.

Apart from the fact that I’m a true-blooded Bacoleña, I have the qualities of what a real Bacoleña beauty should be: the intelligence, the determination, the humility, the positive outlook, the openness to new learning opportunities. And lastly, despite this age of Digital Media, where some say, most of the youth have lost their values by just posting anything online which oftentimes erodes other people’s privacy, I am thankful that my parents instilled in me the right values especially the respect of people’s privacy,  which I carried with me up to this day. With the support of my family, my classmates, my friends, and the whole STI West Negros University community, I am confident that I will be the next Masskara Queen.
