- PEOPLES PARK
Its free, its clean…colorful and Davao—-these are some of the reasons why I like the People’s Park in Davao. People’s Park is a cultural theme park located at the center of Davao City. Any visitor will like when visiting the People’s Park because it is adorned with tropical rainforest trees, large sculptures, interactive fountains, ponds and waterfalls, a durian dome, a shady and open plaza, and a statue of a gigantic Philippine eagle. Never miss this when visiting Davao City. The park is frequented by locals, visitors, and foreign tourists. For more information about the People’s Park, click here.
How to get to the People’s Park
Peoples Park is situated in the heart of the city right across Casa Leticia at the corners of Jose Camus and J. Palma Gil streets and is a walking distance from Apo View Hotel, Mandaya Hotel, shopping malls, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, commercial establishments, and entertainment areas.

- CROCODILE PARK
Each time I am in Davao and if my time permits I would typically visit the Davao Crocodile Park. Davao Crocodile Park showcases a ‘state of the art’ crocodile farming system in the Philippines. It has the most recent crocodile farm design equipped with modern facilities and equipment.
What I particularly like about the park are the animal shows which educate people about the natural world of the crocodiles and other animals inside the park and their connections with nature – perfect for family bonding. Click here, to read about our Happy Trip’s Experience of the Crocodile Park.
SHOWS
- Bird Show
- Giant Crocodile Encounter
- Crocodile Dancing
- Tightrope Walking
- Wildlife Encounter Interactive
- Every Holiday, Friday, Saturday
- And Sunday at 4:00 PM

- BUY SOUVENIRS AT ALDEVINCO SHOPPING CENTER
ALDEVINCO has become a renowned landmark and premier shopping destination in Davao City. The shopping center is an arts and crafts gallery of its own as it showcases the culture and heritage of the Mindanaoan. ALDEVINCO Shopping Center. It is an 8,370 square meter commercial complex located at the junction of Claro M. Recto Avenue and Manuel Roxas Boulevard and was designed by a Filipino Architect Roman Solitaria of Manila. The ALDEVINCO Shopping Center, or fondly called as “ALDEVINCO” was opened to the public and inaugurated on January 2, 1965. Here, you will find genuine Mindanaoan products, antiques, and a wide variety of colorful souvenir items – from mats, brooms, table cloths, and other house ornaments and accessories, musical instruments, tribal swords; to various Batik product, clothes, shawls, jewelries, and ethnic fashion accessories like dangling earrings, bracelets, necklaces and anklets of beads and brass.
This is where I usually shop for souvenir items to bring back home. Prices are negotiable especially when buying products in bulk. First buyers of the day are also privileged at discounted prices. Just be nice when negotiating though:)

- BANGKEROHAN PUBLIC MARKET
Bangkerohan Market is just like another market in the Philippines. But the abundance of cheap Durian Pomelo and Marang is what makes this market different from any other in the Philippines. You may opt to eat your Durian in the fruit stalls as hotels won’t allow Durian to be brought inside the hotel rooms.

- TRY DURIAN
I love Durian, and any trip to Davao will never be complete without Durian eating. Durian has become almost synonymous with Davao City because of its abundance, and because of its scarcity in other parts of the Philippines, many have sought after this exotic fruit. Durian is widely known as the “King of Fruits,” and is abundant in Davao. Davao’s rich fertile volcanic soil and climate make it most suitable for the sustained production of the freshest and tastiest Durian. Since the fruits are locally produced, the prices are comparably much lower than anywhere in the country.

- KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL
Experience Davao’s culture and creativity by attending the Kadayawan Festival. The Kadayawan Festival is an annual festival in the city of Davao in the Philippines. Its name derives from the friendly greeting “Madayaw,” from the Dabawenyo word “dayaw”, meaning good, valuable, superior or beautiful.
