DESSA JANE COCHICO DANGALLO,2016 MQ CANDIDATE NUMBER 3

UNIVERSITY OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL-RECOLETOS

My name is Dessa Jane Cochico Dangallo, 18 years old and was born on June 23, 1998. I was called “ Chao” by my parents, friends, and family. Such a nickname came from “Chowking”, a fast food where my mother used to dine with my father when I was still in her womb. Having a birth weight of 8.6 pounds gave my mother so much pain that her doctor decided to have her undergo a caesarian operation. I came out from my mother’s womb at 3:12 in the morning as a healthy baby at Riverside Hospital here in Bacolod City.

Dessa Jane Cochico Dangallo (Center) , was  awarded Miss Skin Solution during the coronation Night of Masskara Queen 2016

My father is June Fernandez Dangallo from Silay City and my mother is Ana Juline Cochico from Hamtic, Antique. They are both working at John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod, my father as a Physical Education instructor and my mother as Dean of the College of Business Education. Although both of them are employed at JBLCF-Bacolod, they did not influence me to take any of the courses offered in their school.

I decided to enroll in Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, where I am now in my sophomore year, at the University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos. This is my way of fulfilling my dream of becoming a medical doctor in the future.

When I was six years old, my waistline was more than 26 inches and had a quite heavy weight. In order to keep me fit and healthy, my parents enrolled me in a taekwondo summer training. That was the start of my love for that sports. I spent time for practice after classes and on weekends, and had to study my lessons after I arrive home. I have joined various taekwondo competitions and have garnered several awards which gave recognition not only to my family but also to LCC-Bacolod, my alma mater from Kinder up to High School. The healthy body which I have now, the awards and recognition I received in taekwondo until I became a junior black belter, the very satisfactory scholastic grades I received since Kinder up to college , the love and support of my parents and being one of the candidates in the Masskara Queen 2016 are the greatest achievements that I can consider in my life.
