Sinulog sa Kabankalan is here again!I was invited be one of the judges at the Sinulog sa Kabankalan Headdress Competition held recently at Robinsons Place, Bacolod City. Judging all the 24 entries was a big challenge because each of the entry presented beautifully. The judges which were composed of Ms. Leilanie Salem-Alba, Station Manager of ABS-CBN Bacolod; Christine Tomas, Marketing Manager of Robinsons Bacolod and yours truly was tasked to choose the 3 Most Beautiful Headdresses.

The selection process started in the morning wherein the judges were given the chance to scrutinize every detail of each entry. In the afternoon, the entries were modelled in a spectacular show mounted by ABS-CBN Bacolod.
It was amazing to see,the use of materials and how these elements were put together to create such a beautiful pieces of art. Most of the entries were huge giving the entries more visual appeal during the show.
All entries will be the same pieces which the participating tribes will be using during the grand parade of the festival.

The Sinulog sa Kabankalan started in 196 and has been celebrated for 40 years now. As a top tourist attraction particularly among locals from neighboring areas, the festival has managed to retain its authenticity and grassroots appeal.
Congratulations to the City of Kabankalan for the 40th Sinulog sa Kabankalan. My Congratulations also to ABS-CBN Bacolod headed by its Station Manager, Leilani Salem-Alba for mounting the amazing competition for 5 years now. Director Art Alvarez and Ruby Ore for coordinating the entire event.
