My Top 6 Favorites at Kabbara Cafe

My Top 6 Favorites at Kabbara Cafe

Together with  Jojo Vito  of The Happy Trip.Com  and  Top On My List. Com I had lunch at Kabbara Café, a local restaurant that specializes in Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine.

I remember having my first shawarma when I was in grade school and from then on had been a lover of this Middle eastern dish. So I was happy to know that here in Bacolod there is Kabbara Cafe that offers food that I crave for.

We had a lively conversation with the lovely Ms. Mariam Dingdong-Kabbara, (one of the owners) and got to know that in order to give their delectable dishes its authentic flavors and texture, her Lebanese husband imports the herbs and spices from the Middle East. Ms. Mariam also said that to ensure quality she personally looks after the food preparation and presentation before it is served to the customers. Aside from the food, what I like about Kabbara Café is its cozy and classy ambiance.

Sir Jojo and I sampled Kabbara’s rich and flavorful yet reasonably priced dishes that I’m sure Bacolod foodies will really enjoy. Here are the top 6 on my list:

Kabbara Cafe

1. Pomelo Salad- a refreshing combination of sliced pomelo, crab sticks, white onions, organic lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber served with vinaigrette dressing.

Kabbara Cafe
2.  Hummus platter- can be an appetizer or snack. It is served with pita bread.

3.  Lamb Kabsa- imported chicken biryani rice mixed with Arabic raisins and topped with imported lamb chops, onions, and bell pepper slices.

Kabbara Cafe
4.  Warak Enab- grape vine leaves rolled and stuffed with rice, onions, tomatoes and herbs.

Kabbara Cafe
5.  Chicken Arayes- pita bread sandwich filled with sliced chicken, organic lettuce, onions, tomatoes.

Kabbara Cafe
6.  Date Bar- similar to brownies and butterscotch. This sweet Arabic dessert is a great way to finish off all the strong flavors of the other dishes that you’ve had for lunch or dinner.

Kabbara Café also offers other Mediterranean dishes like Tabouleh, Chicken Biryani, Potato Sandwich and of course, my favorite Shawarma. They also serve healthy coolers like yogurt drinks and Vimto Juice (non–alcoholic wines made of berries).

And the good news for Shawarma lovers like me is that they offer a buy-one get one free promo every Monday-Wednesday and Friday.

Kabbara Café is located at the Billboard Complex, B.S. Aquino Drive, Bacolod City. It is open Mondays to Saturdays at 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Yours truly with Jojo Vito and Ms. Mariam Dingcong Kabbara
