6 KIX PLACE TOP CHOICES
Kix Place, formerly known as Fatboys, recently re-opened after moving back to its original location at 22nd Lacson St., Bacolod City. Aside from the great food, what I like about this place is the homey feel. It’s a place frequented by yuppies and families because of the big servings and the affordable price. The man behind this successful dining place is Chef Raul Javelosa. He is assisted by his lovely wife Ching in managing the family business.
Chef Raul (Kix to his family and friends) is a product of the Philippine School of Culinary Arts in Cebu City where he specialized in Mediterranean cuisine.
Here are Kix Place top choices:
Exotic Salad…fruits and vegetables with light dressing
1. Exotic Salad– minced bananas, apples, cucumbers with light creamy dressing topped with chopped lettuce. It is served with sweet potato sticks. Another dish ideal for those who are dieting. It may be an appetizer but if you ask me, I can eat the salad just by itself. That’s how good it is. (P95)
cheesy potato
2. Cheesy Potato– sliced potato wedges with mozzarella cheese underneath and topped with cheese sauce. Kids will drool over this especially when served hot. (P105)
Kix Ribs
3. Kix Ribs– marinated in wine and secret spices, braised and grilled perfectly. It is so tender it falls off the bone. ( P175)
Pan Fried Chicken
4. Pan Fried Chicken– breaded chicken fillet topped with butter and béchamel sauce. I also recommend this tasty chicken dish for those who are on a diet as it is not too heavy and not too bland. (P140)
Sausage N’ Mash
5. Sausage N’ Mash– grilled spicy Hungarian sausage over homemade mash potatoes and topped with caramelized onions. Goes well with rice but great with beer as well. (P175)
