Don’t confuse my personality with my attitude. My personality is who I am. My attitude depends on who you are. A woman armored with spectacular talent, undeniable beauty, and pleasing personality, my name is Lyka Jingco Legaspi, 16 years old, a bonafide student of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College Alijis-Campus taking up Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. My journey in joining beauty pageants started when I entered in college.

Many people wanted me to join in Mr. and Ms. Freshmen 2015. But I hesitated to join because I’m not confident enough to stand in front of many people and I think I’m not capable in the field of beauty pageants. But I tried my best because there’s no harm in trying. And I’m very thankful because I won as 1st runner-up in the 1st pageant that I tried. And on that day, I realized that I can stand firm in front of many people because I have a passion in beauty pageants. I also discovered that joining in beauty pageants is not about having a sexy body or gorgeous faces. But strong mind and a good heart really matter.

I have my favorite bible verse that makes me strong “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil 4:13. I know God has a great plan for me; He pulls me up when I’m down, He wiped my tears when I cry. He is always there for me when no one does.

So, I join this competition neither to brag what I have nor to be applauded. I join this competition to promote skills knowledge and confidence over beauty. Because beauty is not a lifetime asset and it is not always a basis to win a particular competition. But I have these three characteristics that are the best essences of being a beauty queen.
