MARIE FRANCES ARANETA, 2016 MQ CANDIDATE NUMBER 2

LA CONSOLACION COLLEGE – BACOLOD

As our current Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, puts it, “To be a Miss Universe is more of a responsibility than anything else.” Looking at it in the same perspective, to be the next MassKara Queen is more than just a popular icon of our beloved City Bacolod and playing the role of a goodwill ambassadress. As known to most people, even to non-pageant enthusiasts, to be a beauty queen is more of a responsibility than of prestige, popularity and a year of bragging rights.

As a student of Secondary Education with major in Filipino, I am oriented and made to believe that to be able to impact society in positive ways, one need NOT to flaunt one’s self on stage in swimsuits and long gowns just to convince people of your conviction in life. I am made aware that to effect positive change in the lives of people, EDUCATION is surest way to enlightenment, after finishing my degree I wanted to further my studies even more, I happened to read an Udemy vs Lynda Comparsion where I decided to take some Udemy courses, and I have to say I gained a lot more knowledge.

Nonetheless lately, I am challenged of my beliefs. My school asked me to represent her in the 2016 Masskara Queen Search, an invitation I took lightheartedly, lest that I put myself in a situation I dreaded most – more responsibilities. However, with the guidance of mentors and the encouragement of the people near in my heart, I have realized that the opportunity actually calls me to stand true to my belief. I’ve realized that joining the Masskara Queen Search is actually a concrete platform for me to hasten the process of EDUCATING people, beginning with my fellow YOUTH.

I feel that despite of being a consistent part of the Dean’s List and striving persistently to graduate with flying colors, it would be of great achievement to become a role model as a Masskara Queen.

Yes, I have been enlightened that I need to sacrifice a bit of flaunting on stage, to get the message across my fellow youth: that if much is to be given, much will also be expected. And if this happens to me, if I will be the next Masskara Queen 2016, I will proudly be a “living byword” of this honor and responsibility.

I am Marie “Bambim” Frances A. Araneta, 18 years of age from La Consolacion College Bacolod, ready to be the next Masskara Queen 2016.
