The Philippine Independence Day or Araw ng Kalayaan is an annual national holiday in the Philippines observed on June 12, commemorating the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain on June 12, 1898. Various activities are held to commemorate this freedom day.
The Chefs of Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant (Bacolod) , prepared exciting additional dishes which will be added to the regular offerings of Vikings just for the celebration of the Philippine Independence Day.
Here’s the 8 Philippine Independence Day Specials at Vikings Bacolod :
Potato salad is a dish made from boiled potatoes that come in many variations. The Vikings Chicken Inasal Potato Salad is given a familiar Bacolod flavor by adding strips of chicken Inasal (grilled chicken) to the usual potato salad.
2. Vegetable Spring Rolls
Vegetable Spring Roll is a simple fried appetizer dish made from local vegetables .At times, this dish is even called as lumpiang gulay.
3. Bacolod Express
Your should try this dish… Bacolod Express, a combination of the flavor of Bacolod Chicken Inasal and the spiciness of Bicol Express in one.
4. Pork and Chicken Satay
Satay is a Southeast Asian dish quite popular in countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and others. Normally, Satay consists of small pieces of meat grilled on a skewer and served with a spiced sauce that typically contains peanuts.
5. Chicken Adobo Pizza
I really asked the Chefs of Vikings why they will be introducing a pizza for the Philippine Indepence Day. The Chef told us that in Silay City , they have a pizza which was given a local twist by using Chicken adobo for the toppings.
6. Roasted Chicken in Creamy Basil Sauce
This roasted boneless chicken is made even more exciting with the Creamy Basil sauce…
7. Crab Ginger and Butter Sauce
Another must try dish to be featured during the Philippine Independence day at Viking’s Bacolod is the Crab Ginger and Butter sauce. The flavor of ginger gives this dish a twist making the dish a little more exciting.
8. Filipino Deserts: Bibingka Cake, Puto Litaw, Kesong Pan de Coco, Halo-halo Tart
Viking’s Bacolod has already quite a number of Filipino Desserts in their regular offerings. But on the Philippine Indepence Day, they would want to feature more native delicacies on their list. Personally, I love the Kesong Pan de Coco , it is the traditional Pan de Coco bread but the cheese inside gives a nice surprise.
The Halo-halo Tart is also quite refreshing. The crust of this dessert has a flavor of coconut milk and they use the usual Halo-halo ingredients to fill up the crust.

Kakagutom naman but since I am on a diet then I'll go na lang for the veggie rolls and the Roasted chicken in creamy basil sauce.
