1. Interesting Façade
The entire place is inspired by Thai Design. The owner is a pure Bagonhon in the name, Rene Jinon. The Thai coffee shop has founded by him and his other half, Glenda Carmona Jinon. They came out of this idea when their parents’ former café “La Corona” was closed. So that’s why they continued their parents’ legacy of serving great coffee.
2. A Pocket Wise for the Coffee Wise
Ranging from as low as thirty to ninety pesos, you can mark your coffee stay worthwhile and pocket wise. The pure and excellent coffee beans that Saffron Brew provides to make the customers keep on coming back are served brewed, hot and cold. Hot coffee includes‘Cafecito’, very sweet Cuban – style coffee – a shot of espresso blended with raw sugar,’Cortadito’, the double shot of espresso, sweetened with raw sugar with an equal amount of steamed milk, ‘Affogato’ espresso poured over two scoops of vanilla ice cream and much more. They also serve iced coffee like CaféSua Da, Iced Caramel Latte, Iced Mocha and Eiskoffee. Coffee Almond Frappe is under the Frappe menu. One of their best frappes is Mint Mocha Frappe accompanied by different flavors like Vanilla Frappe, Passion Frappe, and Toffee Frappe. 3. The Food and Delicacies
For your coffee stay to be more delightful, Saffron Brew matches your coffee with delights including great pasta like Bolognese, Alfredo, Carbonara, and Chicken Pesto. Served Smoothies are a hundred percent guaranteed that come from fresh fruits. The owner is trying his best to meet and satisfy the needs of the customers not only in the pleasure of taste but nutrition as well. The food has no preservatives added, so it’s healthy and guilt free for you to eat, so as the drinks whether it is hot or cold and the juices are all natural made from real fruits.
4. Cozy Ambiance
The lobby area has wooden tables and chairs. Most customers love to stay and have coffee with their loved ones, family and friends in the hallway. They feel comfortable having coffee with fresh air and cool ambiance of the surroundings. On the right side of the quandary displays a curve of monks on the wall facing you, hanging on the big Buddha made from bronze. The owner’s religion was Catholic, but they preferred Buddhism decors because Buddha symbolizes peace. “Saffron” is the color of the monks robe and the monks also inspired by peace. Mr. Rene Jinon is a calm and quiet man who loves stillness. Beside the lobby area has a mini garden with beautiful flowering plants that cools the air. Customers want to stay in the air conditioned station while having coffee. When you get inside, it was arranged systematically to make it feel like a home. There are wooden seats, table sand colored lights too. On the walls are paintings that show the typical life of Thai. There were also some wooden elephants and golden Buddha displayed on corners. In the counter area, you will find the different flavorings for coffee. Beside the counter was a cabinet where you can see the different coffee beans, including the most expensive coffee which is the civet coffee. You’ll feel comfortable and enjoyable. It’s like you’re in Thailand.
The favorite café of Bagonhon, Bacolodnon, Negrosanon and even foreigners at Bago – Saffron Brew. The location of Saffron Brew is accessible to Bonbons and located quickly. It brings the best of Bago. Foreign citizens and tourists visit this Thai – inspired cafe not just because of the location, but the good ambiance and relaxing spot. It is behind Munisipyo de Bago and also near Social Security System (SSS), Bago branch. Most of the Bonbons take their coffee at Saffron, including the City officials of Bago. Former Mayor Valdez of Bacolod City often brings her family and friends to have coffee together in such place. They enjoyed chatting with each other in this place of quality coffee. The son of Senator “Bongbong” Marcos, Joseph Marcos had visited here for coffee with his Spanish friends. Saffron knew in its three years of serving great coffee in Bago City.

Saffron Brew is not just the only pride of Bago City. It is only a walk distance from the café, so it’s hassle free. Watch the sunset and feel the cold breeze from the river. It’s so relaxing and unwinding walking around the park. Help yourself relieve stress and it makes you reminisce the good memories because of the ambiance in the surroundings. Casals that tastes like Bacolod Inasal are also available at Bantayan Park. There are a lot of facilities, services, foods, and fun at Bantayan.
How to get there?
Bago City proper is not that wide so that locating Saffron Brew would be easy. It’s only 23 kilometers away from Bacolod City. You just need to go to the Ceres, South terminal and look for a bus that passes by Bago City or in Libertad Terminal. Look for a jeepney Bacolod via Pulupandan. And if you are already in the “Home of Historical and Natural Treasures” Bago City, ride a tricycle, and inform the tricycle driver to bring you in Saffron Brew located at Poblacion Bago City, number 56, Trinidad and Lopez Jaena Streets or just say “Back of the City Hall.” If you work at the Bago City Hall, you are lucky because Saffron Brew is just at the back of your workplace. It is important to go to the Café, aside from their affordable food and drinks, the vicinity is excellent because it is very comfortable and peaceful.
