One of the most popular destinations today in Negros Island is the Campuestohan Highland Resort. Located right along the boundaries of Bacolod City and Talisay City, Campuestohan Highland Resort is a 5-hectare property against the beautiful backdrop of green forests of Mt. Makawili. From this vantage point, one can see the breathtaking view of almost half of the entire province of Negros Occidental, and even that of Panay Island. The place offers a variety of activities for the whole family.

2. The Ruins
Another famous landmark of Negros Occidental found in Talisay City is the Ruins. The Ruins is a beautiful structure, gaining fame for its backstory which is just the remains of the 1920s mansion with its Neo-Roman architectural design, built by sugar plantation owner Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson, in what is told and re-told for his enduring love and memory of his Portuguese wife, Maria Braga. The house was ordered by the Americans to be burned during World War II, to prevent the Japanese from using it as a camp. Was built in the 1900s.

3. Minulu-an Festival (September 10)
Minuluan Festival is an annual culture and arts festival celebrating the unique identity of the Talisaynons. Held every September 4-10, it inspires the present generation with the cherished traditions and rich culture of the past and the bravery of its ancestors. The festival highlights include the Street and Arena Dance Competitions. The festival is also celebrating the feast of its patron saint, San Nicolas de Tolentino which falls on the 10th of September.

Tana Dikang Lizares Ancestral House |  Talisay City Tourist Spots

4. Tana Dikang Lizares Ancestral House
Another “must-see” destination in Talisay City is the  Ancestral house owned by the Lizares Family under the Enrica Alunan-Efigenio Lizares Branch, the Balay ni Tana Dicang. Just located within the city proper, the Balay ni Tana Dicang echoes the lifestyle of a century ago and preserves the charm & gentility that is a Talisaynon heritage.

5. Guerero Farm
The Guerero Farm is a 30-hectare garden resort in Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City. Apart from the pool and stunning view offered by the place, guests, especially plant lovers will enjoy the nursery of ornamental plants and the extensive garden. 6. Melba’s Farm
Melba’s Farm is a 10-hectare rainforest park in the heart of Barangay Cabatangan, Sitio Masanglad, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

7. Brgy. Concepcion Rambutan and Lanzones Plantation
The city takes pride in its sweet Lanzones. These Lanzones and other fruits like Marang and Rambutan are especially abundant in Brgy Concepcion, Talisay, Negros Occidental. In Brgy. Concepcion is some Orchard which is opened for guests who would want to engage in an “eat-all-you-can” treat for a minimum price. Unfortunately, it is not open until the fruit season, which falls around August, September, and November.

  • Hi! You can add for the Top 8 to visit, San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish, Diocesan Shrine of San Vicente Ferrer. One of the oldest church in negros which was founded by Rev. Fr. Fernando Cuenca, OAR., an Augustinian Friar who introduced sugarcane and the processing of it which contributed to the progress of the said town. On the side of the church, you can see a brief history of the church through a mosaic made of colorful tiles. Also, within the premises of the parish is the St. Vincent Chapel which was declared as a Diocesan Shrine. The St. Vincent Chapel is honored to have the 1st class relic of San Vicente Ferrer. Pilgrims and devotee come usually every 1st Friday of the month for the mass and for Palapak. ?
