4 TOP BEST SELLERS OF EAST BITE
Aside from my love for burgers, pizza and Filipino food, I have always loved the fusion of Asian flavors like Indian, Thai and Singaporean dishes. Here in Bacolod, I was able to savor again delicious Asian street food at East Bite, a small, cozy restaurant located near the New Government Center. Owned/managed by then college classmates and now business partners Neil Tiu, Mark Laude and Chef BJ Uy, East Bite is a favorite hang-out for those who want to try affordable and appetizing Asian street food. Neil said he and Mark used to work in a cruise ship and after their contract ended they decided to go into the food business. Their menu selection caters to people who have tried similar food during their travels abroad, those who want to experience new flavors and those who want to go on a food adventure.
Here are the East Bite’s Top 4 best sellers which I tried during my visit:
Samosa
- Samosa– Mildly spicy Indian fried pastries with potatoes and green peas. Served with tamarind chutney, this can be both a snack or an appetizer. 3pcs (P69) 4pcs (P79)
Fish Cake
2. Fish Cake– spicy appetizer served with siracha mayo (popular in Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia)
Pad Thai
3. Pad Thai– rice noodles cooked with vegetables and a sweetish, flavorful sauce topped with crushed peanuts. 3 varieties to choose from: Seafood (P155), Mushroom (P150) and Chicken (P145).

4. Beef Rendang– tender chunky beef cuts marinated and slow-cooked for 4 to 5 hours. It is then braised, caramelized and seasoned with secret herbs and spices.

East Bite also serves Tom Yum soup (sour/spicy soup with prawns, squid and fish), Hainanese chicken (Steamed chicken served with 3 different sauces), Nasi Goreng and other Asian delights. Also in the menu are burgers and crepes that are popular with kids. Those who prefer non–spicy food may request to have their food prepared mildly.
