Champion: Entry # 18, Artist: Eric John Minuluan from Talisay City
I was invited as one of the judges for ABS-CBN’s Parade of Masks (Mask Making Contest). This year marks the 29th year wherein ABS-CBN started to discover and recognized local artisans through mask-making. And for a number of years that I had been judging in this competition, I can clearly recognize the evolution and improvement of designs and craftsmanship in every entry.
1st Runner-Up: Entry #22, Artist: Augusto Espanola
The 29th Editon of ABS-CBN Mask-Making Competition for me is the best as far as the entries are concerned. All twenty-two entries were modeled during the finals at the Parade of Masks held at Robinsons Place, Bacolod City. Seating at the judge’s table, gave a very good vantage view of each of the entries as each model came close to our spot.
2nd Runner-Up: Entry #19, Artist: Christopher John Nonescan
I must take, judging all the 22 beautiful entries was difficult. The designs were fabulous and each conveyed a level. I was amazed at how the designers had put together their ideas to arrive upward with a fantastic masterpiece. Some pieces used indigenous and recycled materials yet it didn’t seem to be crappy. Broadly, the parade of masks was a fete to the eyes, an excessive display of creativity and craftsmanships.
Marty Go, the author, Christine Tomas of Robinsons Place, Leilani Salem-Alba, Station Manager of ABS-CBN Bacolod, 2nd Runner-Up winner, Christopher John Nonescan, Raymund Alunan and Kurt Soberano
The way the model carried the masks and the costume also influenced our decision in choosing the winner. And you might be surprised a few entries were modeled by their very own maker/designer.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2015 ABS-CBN’s Parade of Masks (mask making contest):

Those are awesome masks! I'm sure it took a lot of time and effort to finish them. The winners are so talented and really deserving to win.
I have to agree with Janice, those masks look amazing. For some reason this reminds me of the Brazilian Samba festival
Awesome designs! These masks are part of the Philippine culture and arts. I hope they can be a trademark for our country
