3 TOP TOURIST ATTRACTIONS | AGRA, INDIA
Located in the northern part of Uttar Pradesh and at about 200km from Delhi, Agra is the home of the very iconic India’s pride, Taj Mahal. The city doesn’t only have the Taj Mahal to offer to the tourists but also the other UNESCO World Heritage sites like Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
The city has been the seat for the Mughal Empire and other numerous rulers during the early times. It was founded by Sikandar Lodhi of the Lodhi Dynasty. Other prominent persons from other dynasties have also contributed to the beauty of Agra; those are Babur, Emperor Akbar, Jahangir, and Shahjahan. Their contributions include but are not limited to the Persian garden style, Agra Fort, the beautiful palaces and gardens, and the peak of the Mughal architecture.

TAJ MAHAL
One of the Seven Wonders of the World and a true India’s Pride is the Taj Mahal. A tourist’s visit to India will never be complete without going to this iconic site. A mausoleum that is made from pure and soft marble with semi-precious stones and a reflecting pool with fountains are the things that will welcome you on your visit.
Shah Jahan, the fifth emperor of the Mughal dynasty, is said to be so heartbroken by the death of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz Mahal died while giving birth to their 14th child. This is the reason why he built this site, to give honor to the said wife. Though it took eight years (from 1632) to build the main building, the main complex is said to be finished only in 1653. Shah Jahan was imprisoned at the Agra Fort after few years of the completion of the Taj Mahal and he can only see his creation by gazing through a window.
Taj Mahal (Agra, India) is closed every Friday (for tourists only and locals who are not included in the ceremony/prayers).
It is not allowed to take photos on the mausoleum itself but you can still your cameras for other parts of the site. Moreover, tripods are not allowed.
Big bags are not allowed inside so you need to leave your bags on their free bag storage.
Food and cigarettes are not allowed as well.
The entrance fee includes a shoe cover and a bottle of water.
Keep your ticket as you can have a discount if you will be planning to go to Agra Fort, Akbar’s Tomb, or Fatehpur Sikri.

AGRA FORT
This site was built by Akbar, the third emperor of the Mughal dynasty and Shah Jahan’s father. It was originally built as a military structure but later on, became a palace, and then lastly became Shah Jahan’s prison. This site has Mughal forts’ finest having red sandstone and white marble as the building’s materials. It is a courtyard after courtyard and a city within a city.

FATEHPUR SIKRI
Fatehpur Sikri or the City of Victory was also founded and built by Akbar of the Mughal Emperor. This ghost city is a site of magnificent temples and most preserved Mughal Architecture in India. The best place/temple to visit this city is Buland Darwaza, Diwn-I-Khas, Jodhabai Palace, Tomb of Sheikh Salim Christi, Jama Masjid and Panch Mahal.

OMG! The Taj Mahal is so beautiful my sister just visited the place with her officemates and I was very envious.
Amazing! trying to research more about this place. The only thing that stops me from considering this place is the distance. I think It would cost a lot if you are coming from the Philippines.
